Aidan is a Partner in the tax division within EY’s Financial Services Office. He has 20 years experience in the taxation of financial services activities in a domestic and international context. Aidan is a qualified solicitor with a law degree from UCC and also has a diploma in corporate treasury from DCU.
Aidan is a member the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers. He is also an associate of the Institute of Taxation in Ireland. He has recently completed a Masters in Business Studies on Intra-Firm Co-ordination.
Aidan has 20 years of experience advising banks and international groups on Irish tax issues. Aidan has worked for periods in London and worked in one of Ireland’s largest banks. He specialises in assisting global groups use Ireland as a location for international activities.
Aidan has published and spoken widely on the taxation of financial services in Ireland, tax risk management and other matters. He is one of the co-authors of the leading text book in the area: Taxing Financial Transactions in Ireland published by the Institute of Tax Ireland.
He is also co-author (with PJ Henehan) of Global Tax Risk Management published by Tottel in the UK in 2007 and which has been sold to tax professionals in over 20 countries. The book was reviewed by Taxation Magazine:
